This is for a coloring contest that is holding, and I haven't submitted anything in a looooonng while due to lack of time and willpower/effort lol. However, when I saw this I knew I had to take a crack at it. My girlfriend left me her drawing tablet *also glee* because it won't work with her computer *not so glee* and I am soo glad I'm using it and not a mouse like I usually do things. I took a lot of time with this, I don't know how many hours, but it's all colored and shaded by hand (digitally of course lol) So anyways Liz, I heard it's your birthday!! Happy Birthday!! Here's your present Hope I'm not too late!
By the way, I think I got most of the colors right, and I couldn't find any spots I could have missed coloring or shading, but if I have made any bad mistakes or you want any changes to it, let me know
*scampers off, slows to a crawl, falls asleep on floor*
Whoo! XD I seriously can't believe that I'm already getting entries for this. You people are so fast.
Anyway, congrats on being the first person so far to do something with the background XD That really makes a difference, I think. Fills out the space more. Also, the shading looks really nice; I guess having that tablet made a difference, haha. The skin especially looks good; that's not easy to do. Also, the gradients you used on the feathers and whatnot look nice :3 Overall, good job. And thanks for the happy birthday X3

Thanks! And you're welcome =3 And yeah, that tablet helped immensely. I did everything by hand like I've always done, but using the tablet is sooo much faster than by mouse. I love how the pressure changes the brush width and the smudge strength and such. It really helped with coloring and blending. I could never get the shading I did here with a mouse. I was kinda wondering how you think the hair looks? It's the first time I've ever done hair strand-like like that You don't have to answer anything just yet if you think it would affect the contest And thanks again for the comments, I may not post things very often but I love the comments when I do XD.

XD Agreed on the tablet thing, it is a lot faster and easier to work with. I'm pretty sure I've entirely forgotten how to use a mouse. Anyway, the hair doesn't look bad, a little flat maybe. Like, it could do with some more highlights/shadows to give not so much the hair itself, but the heads it's on some dimension. Don't worry though, still looks okay, 'specially for a first try doing it like that :3

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
